#SpokeFriday the 13th (spooky)

Monday, November 9th, 2009

This coming Friday (November 13th) is our next SpokeFriday, it’s also our official anniversary party.

If you are coming, click here to tweet about it, view event and RSVP on facebook, or click on the image below to download the PDF to share with friends.

If you’ve never heard of SpokeFriday, it’s Spoke’s monthly networking happy hour that is open to the public. We invite our friends, clients, vendors, friends from social media, etc… Basically it’s open to all, it’s free and drinks and appetizers are provided (pretty good deal huh)?

Soft Launch

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Ok, so with some time to kill (or basically being at home sick and bored with TV), I’ve mostly finished this new design and did a ’soft launch’ of the new design as my own hand coded Wordpress theme.

I have a few tweaks to finish (like a javascript bug on internet explorer that I haven’t looked into yet)… but for the the most part, this is it.  I’d love your feedback… even constructive criticism, I can take it.

But with this now mostly complete, I’ll be blogging more often and I’ll be starting on my next Wordpress project (a redesign of Spoke and Spoken Whirred) and probably combining them into one site.

Blog Update Pt 2

Monday, September 21st, 2009

I’ve got my new custom wordpress theme about half done over the weekend. The page layout is working great, a few features are different than what is live on creativereason.com right now. Definitely a step in the right direction.

I’ve got to finish the blog page layout and add in a few widgets (test in several browsers) and wrap it up. Looking forward to having this finished. It’s been my first experience with a new / from scratch wordpress theme and I’ve been happy with the progress.

I’ve probably spent about 12 hours on it thus far and will probably need another 3. Not bad at all for my first time, including design / coding xhtml / theming it.

A new blog

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Hello. This blog has been moved and repurposed. After merging Creative Reason to form Spoke this blog has been underutilized. I’m trying to correct that… From henceforth, Creative Reason will serve as my personal blog. This URL remains appropriate because it’s my name on Twitter, plus I like the name for the same reasons when I chose it for my business: I try to combine logic with creativity and make them work together.

Speaking of technology, this blog is now using Word Press, complete with a theme I’ve customized to use the old Creative Reason logo. I hope you like it, I’ve sure liked using Word Press thus far. I’ve imported all of my old posts from the old blog in here, but they don’t have Tags, so unless I get some free time, the categories will need to be used for old posts, tags for new.

As for where I’ll post what, here I will focus on posting personal insights, family updates, and anything that strikes me as important.  Typical personal blog stuff… I’ll also continue to post at the Spoke, Spoken Whirred blog (which I’ll be migrating to Word Press soon also) and my “important” posts will be posted in both spots. Hope you enjoy the blog!

Spoke & Creative Reason Update

Friday, October 24th, 2008

So the full blown announcement has taken longer than expected.  But as mentioned in the previous post, Creative Reason has merged with Avalanche, AdMeyer Marketing and Chuck Hart Design to form Spoke: Marketing | Branding | Interactive.  We have our email announcement queued up and just about ready to send with transition letters to existing customers to follow shortly thereafter.

I've been busy adding content to the Spoke website and will continue to finish it up.  As we wrap up the merger, I will begin to phase out pages from this site that are extraneous, but I will continue to keep the blog running for the time being.  Eventually I plan to transition this content to a new blog (tentatively titled  Spoken Whirred) for Spoke.

I have several ideas for new posts on advertising and marketing, but haven't had the time to write them yet.  Expect some new posts soon.

Don't forget to check out our Spoke Marketing site and let me know what you think.

No News is Good News

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Hello Friends.

My lack of posting recently isn’t because I’ve stopped blogging (which has happened before), but because we’ve been swamped with new work.  Which, of course, is a good thing.  I’ll blog again about marketing topics soon.

Update on All Things Creative Reason:

  • Look for a new name / brand to come out soon from yours truly and partners.
  • I missed take your dog to work day, I wish I’d remembered to bring Bailey, but she would probably would’ve bark all day at all people coming in our and out of the office.   Maybe it’s better that I didn’t.  -  By the way, I like the design of that site.
  • I highlighted in my first post here that I finally built a site for Creative Reason because I was testing out functionality with Facebook.  So it only makes sense that I actually use the site.  If you know my email address, find me on facebook.  I have a profile and everything.
  • While I’m giving out personal profile info, view my profile on linkedin here.
  • My client, The Ticket Guys, have great seats to the upcoming series on 4th of July.  Get your Cards – Cubs tickets from them.  Check them out at www.theticketguys.com.  Also look for news from them soon regarding a give away for tickets to an upcoming event "All Star" game in town and a partnership with a popular local website.  One last thing, if everything works out, they will have a big presence at the Cards-Cub series on July 4th from  The Ticket Guys Cardinals game day location at Paddy O’s.

That’s it for now.  I’ll post again soon, hopefully with more good news.

Cheers,

Brian Schwartz
